Alex Palou still remains second after Spa races

His options were curtailed after finishing 7th in Q2, but Palou still continues second in the overall classification. Walkinshaw came in 10th and Tereschenko was forced to retire as a result of an incident caused by another driver.

Campos Racing has taken part in the second Euroformula Open race at Spa-Francorchamps, and Alex Palou and Sean Walkinshaw finished in the top-ten. In Q2 Konstantin Tereschenko placed third, with his teammate Palou seventh because the Catalan driver could not put all his best sectors together – his ideal lap was good enough for second place-. It ruined his chances later in the race.

Tereschenko made a great start and fought for podium for four laps until another driver crashed into him, damaging extensively his car and forcing him to retire. Palou finished 5th with his effort. Walkinshaw came in 10th after getting involved in another race incident.

“It was a difficult weekend for us. We qualified 2nd on the starting grid yesterday but maybe a bit too far from Stuvik. Yesterday´s race yeas quite good at the beginning, and for four laps Stuvik and I battled for win. When rain started, he pulled away and finished second. Today we made some set-up changes, we had more difficulties and 7th place was the result. We approached an unpredictable race, with many race incidents and they prevented from getting a better result. Now we are already eying Monza!”, Palou said.
