Deflated hopes for Mellors

Oliver Mellors Rallying and Ian Windress made the trip to Scotland this weekend for the RSAC Scottish Rally, the 4th round of the MSA British Rally Championship. After a successful recce the pair felt hopeful of a good result and a chance to put some more championship points on the board.

Setting some quick times over the first few stages in their SORT Oils Proton S2000, a puncture was to end the string of competitive times and cost the crew over 4 minutes.
A push over the last stages meant Ollie and Ian crawled back up the leader board and were able to score a single championship point.

Ollie comments “After a great test on the Thursday, we were feeling very confident inside the car. Our pace over the weekend was encouraging, unfortunately sometimes punctures happen but we now look forward heading to Wales for the The Nicky Grist Stages where we hope to continue learning and increasing our speed”
