Second place at his home event for the Catalan driver now only 13 points behind Janosz in the drivers´ championship with just one race remaining. Walkinshaw came 9th and Tereschenko 16th after serving his drive-through penalty.
Alex Palou has met his objective of reducing his gap to second-placed driver, Artur Janosz, and his major rival for the vice-championship. Palou, with his Campos Racing Dallara F312 qualified 2nd on the grid and, on lap one, he was overtaken by Janosz. But on the following lap Palou managed to overtake his rival again and pulled away. Despite his efforts Palou couldn´t catch Sandy Stuvik but his second place was an excellent result considering that Janosz was 4th. Now 13 points separate them.
Sean Walkinshaw was ninth at the end. Starting 15th got the most out of his race and scored new points. Konstantin Tereschenko finished 7th in Q1 and was running fifth just before being give a drive through penalty because he made a jump start. Finally the Russian driver finished 16th.
Q2 takes places at 9.00 tomorrow, with race two scheduled at 13.00.
