Palou, who managed the fastest lap in the race, and Tereschenko were running 5th and 6th when their progression was stopped by a race incident caused by a rival. Walkinshaw came 9th after gaining several places
.Alex Palou, after retiring in lap one yesterday, was involved in another incident caused by a rival. Palou experienced a difficult qualifying session due to traffic and he wasn´t able to improve 13th fastest time on the starting grid. Konstantin Tereschenko and Sean Walkinshaw were 10th and 15th in this order.
Palou and Tereschenko, keeping a good race pace – nevertheless, Palou set today´s fastest lap-, climbed to fifth and sixth but Yu Kanamaru caused a chain-reaction crash and Palou had a flat tire as a consequence after clashing with Yarin Stern. It prevented him from keep fighting for podium and finish 16th, just ahead of Tereschenko. Neither having luck on his side. So Walkinshaw finished 9th and earned new points.
The Euroformula Open will have its final stop at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on 1-2 November. Palou will arrive battling for finishing vice-champion.
