Palou eyes battle for second place in Barcelona

The young Catalan driver will conclude his participation in the Euroformula Open at home, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, next weekend. His goal is to finish runner-up to Stuvik. Walkinshaw and Tereschenko also aiming for podium in Barcelona.

Campos Racing approaches the season finale in the Eurformula Open, with his driver Alex Palou still battling for second place overall in the series. It was a remarkable year for this young-ace as the 17-year-old driver was making his debut in single-seater racing after a successful background in go-karting. Palou was able to put up a great fight for the title until Monza, battling with two very experienced drivers: Sandy Stuvik and Artur Janosz. As the Thai driver was crowned champion in Italy, Palou and Janosz are in a chance of finishing second in the drivers´ championship.

“Although we were left without options to win the championship after Monza, it was a great year for me battling every weekend with Stuvik and Janosz. It won´t be that easy to take the second place, but we will try it. I took out the positive from Monza, and I approach more motivated than ever this round”, Palou insists now sitting 3rd overall 19 points behind Janosz.

The other two drivers of Campos Racing, Russia´s Konstantin Tereschenko and Scotland´s Sean Walkinshaw, rank 6th and 10th respectively in the drivers´ standings. They both have a clear target in Barcelona: the podium.

Race one is due to start on Saturday at 14.15 and the second one on Sunday at 13.00.
